• Dovetail saw - Looking like a smaller version of a tenon saw, this fine-toothed saw is useful for cutting accurate joints, especially in hardwood.
• Dowel bit - A twist drill for use in drilling wood and manufactured boards. The dowel bit has a point and two spurs and therefore gives much better location in all woods and manufactured boards. It is particularly good in end grain as it will not wander.
• Drum sander - A circular foam-plastic block with a band of renewable abrasive paper which is fitted in the chuck of an electric drill. Used when preparing surfaces for painting.
